Summit Springs Trail

Overview

Summit Springs Trail is an access point for the Milk Ranch Loop, a gateway to Snow Mountain Summit.

Summit Springs is about 2.2 miles long, and actually ends at the intersection of Milk Ranch Loop. The trail gains slightly over 1,000 feet of elevation, traveling mostly through chaparral. Being mostly exposed, it's best to get an early start if you're hiking during the summer months - it can get pretty hot up here at 6,000 feet!

Anyone hiking Summit Springs Trail will likely continue onto Milk Ranch Loop, the quickest route to Snow Mountain Summit. Right now there are still plenty of wildflowers blooming: phlox, baby blue eyes, Indian paint brush, shooting stars and more. Tons of tent caterpillars have recently hatched in the White Thorn.
