Confluence Trail

Overview

This trail starts as a fire road just to throw you off, then quickly narrows to singletrack high above the American River. It alternates from narrow, smooth trail to some rocky sections along very exposed areas. In some sections, the trail is less than a foot wide with rocks all over it and a drop off of about a hundred feet to the river.

The trail is fairly straight, so it's easy to see oncoming mountain bike riders, runners and hikers. You'll continually descend along this trail all the way down to near river-level where it comes out on Old Foresthill Rd and several parking areas.
