Prairie Creek Trail

Overview

The Prairie Creek Trail should rank high on any list of great must-dos in Redwood National Park.

Starting at the Prairie Creek Visitor Center, follow the trail north as it winds through towering redwoods and past a glassy creek. Along the way, keep your eyes peeled for cutthroat trout and steelhead resting their tired muscles in the stream's deep pools.

Midway down the trail, you'll reach a spur for the Corkscrew Tree, a towering behemoth with a set of four intertwined trunks.

On the second half of the trail, expect it to continue in typical form to its terminus at an intersection with Zig Zag No. 2.
