Donner Summit Canyon Trail

Overview

Donner Summit Canyon follows a historic route from the neighborhoods on the west end of Donner Lake up to the summit, where hikers can connect with the Pacific Crest Trail and other trails. It has great views, gives hikers a unique perspective on the surrounding cliffs, and passes Native American petroglyphs. Donner Summit Canyon was protected by the Donner Truckee Land Trust and conveyed to California State Parks, and is now part of Donner Memorial State Park.
