The Mule Mountain Trail connects the lower BLM Swazey Recreation Area to Mule Mountain Pass and into Whiskeytown National Recreation Area.<br><br>The trail is well-maintained, starting from the Wintu Trailhead, with a flat, smooth singletrack on former mining canal through oak woodlands. It then gradually gets steeper on some doubletrack with a few creek crossings. The final ascent is up the Terminator - a steep and rocky singletrack that curves around the drainage into mixed conifer forest at Mule Mountain Pass.
