Wawona Point

Overview

From a junction with the Outer Loop Trail near the Galen Clark Tree, take the former roadway as it leads gently uphill. The viewpoint is at nearly 7000 foot elevation and is bounded by a pretty rock wall and set of steps. From here you can see the South Fork of the Merced River, Wawona Meadow and across the wooded valley to Wawona Dome. <br><br>Consider skiing or snowshoeing into Mariposa Grove during the off-season to avoid the crowds.
