When you need to get quickly from the valley up to the Panoramic Highway, this is your best bet. Because it follows a ridge instead of a burbling stream, this is not the most scenic or aesthetic of all the trails up from the valley. It does however pop in and out of the forest so it gets more sun than some of the other trails in the area.

From the Alice Eastwood Group Camp (used by the CCC when they were working on the trails in this area) climb uphill to the northwest. The twisty trail ascends through several steep sections before the grade mellows considerably at the halfway point. Hike over gentler terrain as you start to hear highway noise near the trail terminus at a junction with the Troop 80 Trail.
Typical scenery near the Panoramic Highway part of the trail.
