Elk Prairie Trail

Overview

The Elk Meadow Trail can be accessed either from the marked southern trailhead in Elk Prairie Campground or at the northern end from the junction with the Cathedral Trees Trail.

Along this trail, visitors will hike through one of the most heavily populated Roosevelt elk areas in the park. The large meadow offers the chance to get an up-close look at the elk in their natural habitat. Also, keep an eye open for other evidence of elk in the area such as signs of antler rubbing and browsing which is obvious on numerous trees along the trail.
