Myrtle Creek Trail

Overview

This trail follows a water diversion ditch used for a hydraulic gold mining operation started in 1894. From the parking area, cross the road and ascend very quickly through a lush second-growth forest. There are 15 interpretive signs along the trail explaining the history of the area as well as its diverse flora. If you look carefully, you can still spot some of the old mining equipment and ruins. The trail ends where it meets Myrtle Creek.
