Sisson-Callahan National Recreation Trail

Overview

One end of the Sisson-Callhan Trail is at 3,500 feet near Lake Siskiyou and the other at a junction with the PCT at 7,200 feet among the Deadfall Lakes. In between, the trail climbs to the 8,020 foot Deadfall Summit and past the side trail to Mount Eddy. The Sisson-Callahan NRT is all downhill from Deadfall Summit. It trail can be done in either direction but a start at the Parks Creek Trailhead (with a car shuttle from the lower trailhead) allows for a mostly downhill journey. Hiking from the Parks Creek Trailhead to the end-of-trail near Lake Siskiyou is a good effort for most hikers.
