Opportunities for the public to access places like Table Mountain , Aldrich Butte , and Cedar Mountain have changed a few times in recent years. The official access is via the Bonneville Trailhead , which is a long way away. Former access from the Bonneville Hot Springs Resort ended when the resort was sold to Foundations Recovery Network in 2016. Hikers continued to use private Shelly Lane to park in the powerline corridor, but neighbors complained about the intrusions, and a gate was installed in 2023 blocking access. However, as of February 1st, 2025, the Bonneville Hot Springs Resort has reopened to the public and charges a $10 parking fee. Hikers not wishing to pay a fee, or just if they want to enjoy a different approach, can make a crossing of Hamilton Creek and the powerline corridor to access the old jeep roads that serve as trails. The catch is that Hamilton Creek can become a raging torrent in the wet season, so use of this corridor is restricted to the summer and early fall months.
