The trail takes off from the Chimney Rock Road 1.2 and is recommended for downhill-only due to the steep grade and rocky terrain. The first mile or so is a jeep trail that descends about a thousand feet very steeply to a nice camping area. Just before reaching the camping area, the road has an extremely steep and loose hill culminating at a washed-out section comprising a minefield of large boulders. <br><br>For the next hundred feet, it is either a hike-a-bike or fun for the trials riders. The road flattens and there is a camping spot on the right. It then becomes singletrack. <br><br>The trail climbs slightly as it traverses the hillside and crosses a creek. Soon it begins a big descent along rugged Rattlesnake Creek Canyon to the Downie River Trail 10E02. This trail has some very technical sections, big ruts, and lots of loose rocks. It is a rodeo ride down, with some challenging stream crossings thrown in. You'll see some mining remnants as well, and cool rock features in the lower canyon. The trail is open to motos, so be aware.
