Buck Meadows

Overview

This trail, which is a mix of doubletrack and singletrack trails, brings you from Highway 120 and Buck Meadows down into the Tuolumne Canyon and right next to the Tuolumne river. This road was used to get access to the river when Lumsden Road had a landslide and was closed. It's not very well maintained and the road is eroding in some places, but it's a great downhill with a winding road that zig zags along the canyon and offer great views into the Canyon and views into Yosemite.

Poison oak is on the sides of the tails but the trail is wide enough that it's easy to avoid. Don't go too fast at the start of this trail as there is a sharp left turn that you need to make and if you go straight, you'll go off a 200 foot cliff. Great ride, and take the Lumsden road up out of the canyon for a more gradual uphill ride.
