This viewpoint is at the end of a basalt fin that branches northwesterly from the top of the Elevator Shaft . You'll walk a lovely, but narrow and mossy basalt fin after scrambling down through thickets, You can walk along the crest of this narrow ridge, which drops precipitously down to Multnomah Creek on the left side. At the end of the ridge are a few burned trees and a cairn of vesicled basalt. Beyond the cairn, you can see down to the freeway parking lot and west along the Columbia River.
