Cynthia Falls plunges about 55 feet down into a slot canyon. Across is a basalt fin, really a part of the same cliff on which you are standing that has peeled away from it. A rough path to the left takes you around the head of the slot. Then you can gingerly step out along the narrow, brushy fin, with drops on both sides, to get other views of the falls, which is a double waterfall much of the year, but rather meager in volume except after a good set of rains. A couple of intake pipes, delivering fresh water to a local landowner, lead over the brink of the falls and down the chasm.
