The loop up and over Cedar Mountain takes in some of the territory south of Table Mountain in the Columbia River Gorge . The reopening of the Bonneville Hot Springs Resort & Spa in February 2025 has made this a much more accessible hike although navigation along the crest of Cedar Ridge can still be a bit of a challenge. Most of the trails you will be using are unofficial, but there is some signage. While you're usually in shady woodland, there's a diversion to Aldrich Butte , which offers vistas over the central Gorge. Cedar Falls is another short diversion best visited during the rainy season. The hike up along Cedar Ridge is steep in places, but there is one excellent viewpoint. You may, of course, extend the loop by continuing to the summit ridge of Table Mountain via the West Table Mountain Trail (West Way). The loop on Table Mountain , coming down the Heartbreak Ridge Trail, adds about two miles and another 1,400 feet in elevation to your trip (see the Table Mountain Hike ).
