What is left of the Bonanza Mine is a dripping adit that runs about 100 feet into the hillside. Don't venture too far into here, but try to imagine the scene at the beginning of the 20th century when miners hand pushed ore carts out on rails and used compressors to blast the rock. There was a shed-like building here and slag was dumped down the valley. The mine was probably never profitable: it is not known how much gold was actually found here, and activity ceased after a few years.
