Tahoe Mountain Trail makes for a nice climb or descent from either side, though most riders climb up starting from Tahoe Mtn. Road and descend the backside to Forest Road 12N19. This trail can be used to access the top of Valley View Trail which is another excellent descent option with several fun features. Watch out for several sandy sections. Access this trail from a parking pullout area on Tahoe Mountain Rd. across from Forest Mountain Drive or park on Devron Way and take the Devron Connector. This trail is mostly non-technical with only one or two tight rock sections to get through.

North of the intersection with Tahoe-Valley View Connector the trail provides a fast descent down the north side of Tahoe Mountain. Watch out for any overgrown Whitethorn lining the lower half of the trail that can scratch your arms and legs if you're not paying attention. The lake views from this one are great!

Coming up to a great view/turn
The climb up Tahoe Mountain from the lake side is a grind, but the views take your mind off the effort.
Not sure why this is described as a shuttle ride as it is just as fun as a climb. Here is part of the new reroute section.
Leaving the rock garden in the light
Coming into the only rock garden on the lower portion of trail, rock stairs to exit
The climb up Tahoe Mountain from the lake side features killer Tahoe views.
