This is a narrow trail following the South Yuba River. It should be broken down in two parts. The section between Round Mountain Trail and the Purdon Bridge is narrow and the climbs can be strenuous at times, but it is not too technical. The trail is quite smooth and not right on the edge of the canyon.

The section between Round Mountain and Edwards Crossing Bridge, on the other hand, can be quite dangerous in places. It is sometimes very narrow right on the edge of a vertical drop into the canyon with no room for mistakes, while going over root or rocks. Definitely for experienced riders only, or just hike it first to make sure you are comfortable riding it. It offers the very best views of the South Yuba River's steep canyon.
