Starting from the west end at the Mt. Elwell Trail, this trail traverses above the north side of Long Lake. It starts out with some nice singletrack and fun riding.

As you reach the lower section of the descent to the northeast corner of Long Lake, the trail crosses a talus field and becomes extremely boulder strewn with large steps that can bash your chainring. Be careful here as it's easy to endo into jagged rocks. Most people walk this section.

At the lake, you'll intersect the Long Lake Connector Trail coming across the small dam at the end of Long Lake. Stay left and start a fun and technical downhill. It starts out with occasional rocky segments and transitions into a steep and sometimes muddy trail with slippery roots.

It's fun but pretty gnarly when wet. The trail soon connects with Gray Eagle Creek Trail to the left and Grass Lake Trail to the right.
