Like a pilot intent on flying to the bottom of the mountain as quickly as possible, this trail does exactly that, albeit at a slightly slower pace.

If ridden properly (guns blazing), this is far and away the most difficult trail on the mountain. Kamikaze departs from the apex of Mammoth Mountain, just above 11,000 feet, and descends over 2,000 feet to the main base area.

This screamer DH is loose and white knuckle; I hope you checked your brake pads before embarking on this epic. If you're lucky enough to get a chance to look up, or you're simply going too slow, you'll have amazing high-alpine views all the way from the top.

Enjoy the subsequent adrenaline; it's all you'll have for the foreseeable future.
