The ride begins at the trailhead for the Tahoe Cross Country ski area and meanders through the heart of Burton Creek State Park. The hard packed and level route follows the edge of the forest as it encircles Antone Meadows, never entering its sanctum.

With bridges at all the creek crossings, this ride can be enjoyed early in the season when the wildflowers are at their peak. There are lots of optional little side trails as well and you can get a map showing other routes at many stores in the Lake Tahoe area.
Some parts of the trail have lots of sun exposure.
Right behind the photo is a large meadow and a picnic table. Wound be a great spot to have lunch.
Nice woodsy section!
Some of the great signage and the trails to take beyond this one.
Not far from the parking area, on Antone Meadows Loop
During a wet year there is lots of marsh areas near the creek...with lots of wildlife. (There is a family of ducks in the water in this pic...too small to see though.)
