Royal Gorge Hewlett Rim Trail

Overview

The Royal Gorge cross country trails are now open for biking and hiking, thanks to the acquisition by Truckee Donner Land Trust. The trails are mostly smooth doubletrack and have been lightly travelled so there is grass and vegetation growing in many of them. <br><br>The advantage to the ski trails is they are cleared of down trees and there are many options to choose from. There is brand new singletrack that switchbacks up over the ridge on Royal Gorge Rim Trail to the warming hut and then levels out for about the last mile to Point Mariah, which has great views and is an excellent destination. <br><br>Bringing a cross-country trail map would be helpful to find your way or keep your eye on the <a href='/mobile-app'>MTB Project mobile app</a>.
