Groveland CA Ridge Trail

Overview

From the trailhead, you can choose to do one of two loops. Stay right if you want to ride on a winding forest service road that will eventually lead you to a 4 wheeler trail that will take you up to the top of the ridge. Ride along the ridge trail which will run into heart attack hill, a long steep incline that will eventually leads you back to the trailhead. This loop can also be done in reverse for some fun downhill on the ridge trail and to skip ascending heart attack hill.

The second loop (Ryan's Hoot) is to the left of the trailhead and is semi-hidden behind a pullout. The second loop has flowy singletrack trails that wind up and down through a heavily forested area. This is the most fun part of the ride and can be a bit technical in some areas. At the end of the singletrack, you'll run into a forest service road that you can take a left on to get back to the trailhead, or turn around and come back the way you came for an enjoyable singletrack back track.
