The bottom of the trail starts at the currently unfinished parking lot on Highway 238 (there is also a parking area at the top that is accessed from Sterling Creek Road). If parking off of Highway 238, be extremely careful when crossing the highway until the formal parking lot is completed on the trail-side of the road.

If you're climbing from the bottom, pick a cool day, as there's a fair amount of sun exposure (which is very nice in fall/winter/spring) as you climb out to the top. Once on the ridge, it's an easy and very scenic ride to the end of the trail and parking area. You'll have your pick of the views and they are all good. Just don't forget to keep your bike on the trail, as it's fairly steep exposure!

On the way back down, the miles pass quickly in a fun and flowly descent with a few short climbs. If conditions are warm or your group wants to eliminate the climb, the trail is easy to shuttle, too! You'll have fun either way, just make sure to fill out the register, so the BLM knows all the love this new excellent trail is getting!
