Overview
This is a great, yet steep and rarely traveled, backcountry trail that works great when ridden in either direction. If you're heading up from the Box Canyon area, it's a slightly less challenging climb than Grasshopper Mountain Trail #3569 with better views to the north and west. <br><br>If you're coming from the top, it'll stretch out the descent and spare you the plentiful rock gardens on Grasshopper Mountain Trail #3569. The west and north "sides" offers peek-a-boo views through the trees, but the best views are along the east side, from the top of Chucksney Mountain and along the open ridge. It's a big ride and there's no easy way to get in or out, so be prepared for anything except for a crowd!
