Cross Tie

Overview

Cross Tie was purpose built by mountain bikers for mountain bikers as a "get from Point A to Point B" 3/4 mile connector trail but still provides for fun riding experience through the fir trees. It avoids the disc golf course area and also bypasses use of Hares Canyon Trail (popular for equestrian riders). This trail is best (quickest/best for riding) route between Hilltop Day Use parking area and the North Caddywhomper Way mountain biking access trailhead. For a short distance it does use Hooktender Horseshoe trail but dives off on its own route. Short switchbacks get you back on a contour that strikes mostly direct towards the mountain biking area trailhead.

There are narrow split rail fence gateways along the route which serve to remind riders they are about to cross over other trails. Mind your bars ends!

Don't let its utilitarian nature fool you, this is an enjoyable trail especially when cruising back from mountain biking area to your vehicle parked at Hilltop.

Hiking is permitted between Hilltop and the Hares Canyon trail near beginning of North Caddywhomper Way, so remember to share the trail and be courteous to walkers.
