Rat Pack is the main access trail to all other routes in the Mountain of the Rogue trail system. It's a steady, rolling contour climb. It gets steeper the higher you go on the mountain.

From just inside the forest off N River Road, Rat Pack begins to climb on a mellow grade. Once you hit the first switchback, it becomes a bit more of a grind. The route steadily gains elevation on the west side of a ridge through a series of switchbacks.

Eventually, the trail rounds the southern edge of the ridge and then climbs to an intersection with a connector to Pay Dirt. Stay right to continue climbing along the backside of the ridge. You'll notice the grade has ramped up a bit.

Crossing back over the ridge and pedaling up through another series of turns will bring you to the top of Breakdown. If you're tired from the climb, go left here and descend.

Stay straight to continue the climb of the mountain through the steepest grades. Through here there are short punchy climbs followed by steady grades. A sharp left switchback takes you up out of a drainage and onto Darkside to finish the climb.

Note: the high point of this trail is a future trail intersection. Right now it's a seamless transition onto Darkside.
