As one of the newest trails at Sandy Ridge, Follow the Leader is the kind of advanced experience that will test all of your skills.

The route starts opposite of Rock Drop and Hide and Seek with an easy roll through the trees to the first big feature, a big boulder drop.

Afterwards the route traverses a couple of brief scree fields before diving back into the trees. You'll encounter a quick creek crossing before getting to the real meat of the route.

The most technically thrilling section starts with a quick drop and extremely tight turns through large pine trees. If you've mastered nose wheelies you'll have a lot of fun through here.

Next, roll into a quick g-out next and then rise up and over a pile of boulders. You'll also be skirting under a rock overhang. While most of Follow the Leader is high on exposed slopes, this section in particular is especially spicy.

From here the trail descends over rocks and roots around a sweeping turn and into another tight switchback.

The next section brings a little more flow with rollers and berms.

The last bit of the route traverses another scree field and then swoops into the intersection with Flow Motion.
