Barlow Trail #601A

Overview

Barlow Trail #601A starts in what is known as the Summit Compound just across Hwy 26 (south) of the Summit Ski Area Sno-park, in a group of CCC era Forest Service cabins. The trailhead board labeled the Mazamas Trailhead is near the largest building. There is a user trail that connects the Summit Trail #661 a few hundred feet to the trailhead board. Barlow Trail takes you to the Still Creek Campground and ends just short of paved forest road 2650 in the middle of the Still Creek Campground loop road.

Riders can then continue south on the Barlow Trail to Trillium Bike Trail connector located on paved forest road 2650 to where it turns to gravel at the end of the campground loop and continue through scenic Summit Meadow and get on the Trillium Bike Trail and end up at popular Trillium Lake.

The Barlow Trail trail itself is 12-24" singletrack through dense forest. If you want to connect to the Summit Trail #691 or cross Highway 26 to Crosstown Trail #755, riders should use the user trail through the Summit Compound.
