From Timpanogas Lake, the trail begins with a gradual ascent initially through a mixed forest of fir, hemlock and white pine. The grade gets increasingly steeper as it passes the June Indigo Tie #3640. <br><br>The trail then levels out in a high alpine valley and skirts around the north end of a ridge before descending gently to the June Lake.<br><br>On the return, consider taking the June Indigo Tie #3640 to Indigo Lake #3649 back to Timpanogas Lake.
