Crane Prairie

Overview

Crane Prairie is a rugged experience connecting Bonney Meadows Rd with Crane Creek. The route may require some route-finding skills and hike-a-bike due to possible blown-downs and thick vegetation.<br><br>From Bonney Meadow Rd, Crane Prairie descends steeply to the north to the top of the Boulder Creek drainage. The trail is is somewhat hard to find at the start, but eventually it becomes more obvious as it heads downhill. You'll ride through rhododendron thickets and huckleberry bushes as the route turns to parallel a creek to your left. Then the route bends to the right traversing above a marsh meadow to the south side of the drainage.<br><br>Here, Crane Prairie turns downhill again, following a Boulder Creek tributary. You'll be descending through big trees while crossing the creek a few times. Towards the bottom, the route following a ridgeline and passes a small waterfall before rolling out to the intersection with Crane Creek.
