Port Gamble Loop

Overview

This ride follows the course of the Stottlemeyer 30/60 Race and is predominantly intermediate in difficulty. Following the course involves lots of turning and navigating to stay on track. There are a few short climbs that are ten-percent-plus and some short downhills. The majority of trails cross rolling terrain and the difficulty and fun comes from navigating tight turns, roots, trees, and the occasional steeper section.<br><br>This ride begins from the Uplands Trailhead off of Hwy 104. Head north from the parking lot until the road connects with Service Road 1100. Follow it south to the intersection with the very brief E.T. trail. Hang a right onto the service road and than a quick left onto the technical Hope Trail.<br><br>Directly on the other side of the road, you'll enter the Forbidden Forest trail for a twisting and challenging pedal. Head right when you intersect with Twisted Sister for some more winding through the trees. Twisted Sister is less technical than the other trails so far, and it even has a bit of flow towards the end before it spits you out on Service Road 1610.<br><br>Head right to The Aviary trail for two fast descents followed by punchy climbs. Hang a left on Service Road 1710 Spur and then a right onto Warlock for more roots. Turn right onto Service Road 1700, pedaling past the intersection with Service Road 1800 and Service Road 1900. After a bit, take the entrance to the Clearcut Trail on your right. Pretty soon the trail splits, keep left to connect with the Clearcut Alternate which feeds back to the first Clearcut Trail after a bit of pedaling. At the exit, turn left onto Service Road 1800. The next section involves a lot of navigating.<br><br>Hang a right on the Ridge Trail until it ends at Service Road 2100. Move left for a little bit until you reach the Valley Trail, follow this up until it connects back to Service Road 1800. After a brief pedal to the right, connect with Hyper Space and then take another right onto Outer Limits. When Outer Limits ends on Service Road 1820, follow
