Glenrose

Overview

Leaving from the parking lot, this out-and-back trail has a wide singletrack climb, with two intersections with the Blue Bunch Loop trail. The steepest climb happens on an old fire road. At the top of the fire road climb is its peak elevation, which offers a fantastic vista to the west looking over Spokane's upper South Hill. Sunsets at this location are superb.

To the east of the peak, there is a section of somewhat flowy -- but steep -- wide singletrack through the woods. A few switchbacks slow the flow, otherwise this section can be pretty fast. Keep in mind, however, that this is a multi-use trail and there is not much of a shoulder should a cyclist find a hiker in their path.

This trail is worthwhile on its own merits, but is also used to access The Cliffs and Flying L to the east, and completes the Blue Bunch Loop.
