Chantrelle Trail

Overview

The Chanterelle Trail is a multi-use trail that is open to ascending bike traffic. From the parking area, it wastes no time starting to climb for a pace that will vary from steady to unpleasant throughout as the benched trail switchbacks just over 1,000 feet above Lake Whatcom to a nice open viewpoint.<br><br>The trail isn't technically challenging but it's quite a bit of effort. But since riders are required to descend on Wickersham Truck Road until a descending trail is opened in the future and this won't be high on many bikers lists unless they're looking for a workout or like to suffer on the uphill.
