Cedar River Trail

Overview

The Cedar River Trail is a commonly used interurban trail that parallels the Cedar River along an old railroad grade. The trail is paved for most of the way, starting at the southern end of Lake Washington, but reverts to gravel about five miles before it concludes at Landsburg Park in Maple Valley.

The trail is popular for several recreation types as well as for non-motorized commuting. As a result, a number of share-the-trail policies are in effect for traveling, passing, etc. Although much of the trail is very pleasant as it follows the shore of the river and travels through wooded areas, the tranquility can at times be overshadowed by the proximity to busy roads.
