Connelly Creek Trail

Overview

Connelly Creek Trail can be ridden in either direction. From north to south (as mapped), it follows a rolling descent over a gentle grade. There aren't formal parking areas directly adjacent to this park trail, so it's more commonly used by commuters or nearby residents (note that the Sehome High School parking lot requires a permit).

The top of the trail travels through a forested grove past apartments and the school. Where it comes out of the trees the grade flattens as the trail travels crosses by Joe's Garden (note the fences are electric). Continue across Taylor Avenue back into the trees to reach a stretch that resembles a broad tree-lined country road that's managed to hide out of site in the city.

A series of turns and slight undulations brings the trail to a small boardwalk up alongside a shallow creek. Once again the trail is narrow here and the brush and trees press in close. The vegetation pulls back in a wooded lowland near the two McKenzie Avenue connectors where the rest of the trail continues as a straight shot to Donovan Ave.
