FS Road #7200 starts off of the highway and climbs for several miles before beginning a long descent that continues well past the Dalles Ridge Road #7250 to eventually end at FS Road #7000.

The road is used as the first part of an ascent to reach the Dalles Ridge Trailhead. Some riders will pedal this grueling climb, but many (read most) people will prefer shuttling instead. Whether you're on two wheels or four, the views along the way are fantastic!

A number of spur roads split off from time-to-time and a general rule of thumb is to take the most traveled option at intersection. Around the ten-mile mark, turn right onto Dalles Ridge Road #7250 to start the second part of the climb to the Dalles Ridge Trailhead. The MTB Project mobile app is worth keeping handy to make sure you make the correct turn.
Continuing to climb up FS 72.
Wild flowers line the gravel road on the grind up.
