John C. Shields Park (Minnehaha Rocks) is better know as a rock climbing destination, but this climb up an access road will take you to the base of Yo-Yo and from there to the top of Beacon. Don't be fooled by the "road" aspect, this is a more rigorous climb and certainly not the easiest route to Beacon. While the terrain is moderately technical the challenge will be in the steeper sections.

Shields Park's advantage is the fact that it's the only trailhead at Camp Sekani & Beacon that has restrooms. The trail leaves from the east side of the parking lot.

Can be ridden in either direction. Also frequented by many non-biking users.
